We have numerous businesses for sale here in the Central TX area. Some of these are listed businesses, while others are “pocket” listings, meaning the seller has chosen not to advertise the business for sale, but rather let it be known that if we find a buyer, we could have a deal to put together. Companies spend the majority of their time running their businesses and concentrating on the operating side of things. This is understandable. Our job is to sell the business and we will leave you alone to do what you do best. That is, to run the business in the best way possible in the interim.
Once a potential business buyer has looked over the businesses for sale in their local area, they will get an understanding of how businesses are priced. This will give a business buyer a realistic idea of what they are going to pay, if they are going to buy a business. Buying an existing business is not for the faint of heart. As a buyer, you have to make sure the seller is not the main reason the business is a success. If they are the main reason, it might be best to stay clear. The best kind of businesses to buy are those that are not dependent on the seller. The seller might be semi-retired or has a good management structure in place.
