Find A Business Broker

As a business seller, what happens when you are trying to find a business broker?  Do you search the internet or do you ask a trusted advisor to help in the search.  We have found that it can be both.  We find that with many small businesses, many business owners will simply search the web.  With more medium-sized companies, the sellers tend to ask trusted advisors if they know who is good in the central Texas and Austin TX area.  Even in San Antonio, we have found the same results.  Most large sellers want to know and use someone who has the experience and know-how to know what their business may be worth and what it might fetch in a sale.  These companies are generally a little larger and have a little more in the way of employees and structure to them.

There are a few key questions when you are trying to find a business broker.  Has that business broker sold many businesses?  How many have they sold in the past few years?  What percentage of their listings have they sold?  What is the asking price to deal price?  Do they have experience with your type of business or at least in that same industry?  All of these questions are important because many business brokers tend to just be “listing agents”.  They merely list as many businesses as possible and merely hope that a few of them actually sell.  We are different.  We carefully choose what business we list, ensuring that the business have a good chance of being sold.  Our initial fees are also different.  Many business brokers tend to make the grand majority of their incomes off of the initial fees charged to the sellers.  While we charge a modest amount up front to cover costs, we make our income off of success fees from actually selling the businesses.  Hence, we are careful what we choose to list.  This eliminates much of the frustration that goes into this process from businesses that can’t sell or sell for much less than what the broker promised.  We aim to be different.  When you attempt to find a business broker, trust CGK Business Sales.  We will give you honest feedback into what your business may be worth, based on experience and hard statistics.

Please do not settle for any business broker.  Unfortunately, this industry is unlicensed in most states.  Most business brokers have no experience in mergers and acquisitions before they start in this business.  If they do have experience, many times it is not direct.  We have experience and we know this process very well.  That is what makes us successful as a business broker.  We know what buyers look for and what types of businesses they buy.  We do not take on businesses that we think won’t sell.  Trust us and trust our experience.  If you need to find a business broker, call CGK Business Sales today.
