Austin, TX 78701

Business Brokers
As Austin business brokers, we strive to do the best for our clients. While we mainly help those that are selling their businesses, we do also help business buyers, as well. Some of this naturally occurs during the transaction. For instance, the buyers will almost always need some sort of bank financing to complete the deal. Rare is the buyer who simply pays all cash for the business. So, in order to facilitate the business sale, we often help find the buyer financing through local or national banks, lending companies, or mezzanine financing companies.
Mergers and Acquisitions
While there are not many mergers and acquisitions companies in Austin, TX, we’d like to believe we are one of the few quality firms. We have experience working at some of the biggest investment banks in the world, plus hedge funds, private equity firms, and mutual funds. Since we’ve seen investment banking from the highest levels and mergers and acquisition deals on Wall Street, we feel like our background will better help you in your deal. Sometimes smaller deals can be more challenging, since the number of service providers and quality of those providers actually dwindles as the deal size shrinks. We’ve spent over a decade doing small and lower middle market mergers and acquisitions, so we know how deals work at this level.
Investment Banks
Since we spent the first twelve years of our career at investment banks and hedge funds, we understand what buyers and sellers are looking for in deals at the highest levels. Often, there is a select set of criteria that these buyers look for, and if your company does not fit within that box, or hold that set of criteria, then the buyer is likely to pass. As your investment banker, we know what the sophisticated buyers look for in deals. Almost all of our deals will be asset deals, rather than stock deals, as it is rare to find a buyer who wants to take on the liability of a stock transaction. So, technically, these asset transactions are not selling or advertising securities for sale in any way, and investment banking licenses and broker dealer status is not needed. We are registered with the Texas securities board, in case of a stock transaction, though these are extremely rare.
Selling A Business
If you are even thinking about selling a business in Austin TX, you should give us a call and see what we have to offer. When we represent business owners selling a business in Austin Texas, we feel as though we provide the best representation in the city. Our knowledge and experience are second to none in this area. We are educated in these deals and are also educated at an Ivy League institution. We do not just list businesses for sale, we actually sell them. We can help you sell your business for more, and often pay for our commission ourselves through higher transaction prices for our sellers.  Thought about  selling your business in Austin TX , then give us a call.
Buying A Business
If you are a business buyer in Austin, TX, you should call CGK Business Sales to see what we either have listed or as a “pocket” listing. Pocket listings are those that the seller does not want listed but has instructed us to bring them a buyer if we find one. Since these businesses are not listed, they often have less competition, when it either comes to an auction process or just a straight buy directly from the seller. We have businesses in almost every industry, but we specialize in medical, manufacturing, distribution, industrial, and certain service businesses. We have also represented and sold businesses in almost every industry, so chances are we have sold a business in the industry that you are interested in buying. Buying a business in Austin TX may not be the easiest thing, since we are still a growing city, but we can show you what to look for and be careful of when buying a business.
Business Valuations
We also help prepare business valuations for businesses and companies around Austin, TX. While the art of business valuation, is just that, more art than science, we can help put some solid numbers behind what you may get when selling your Austin business. We can show you business comparable reports that show what the average multiple may be for your business or industry, taking some of the speculation out of what you may hear from the internet or from a friend. We can prepare what is called a broker’s opinion of value and this will give you an idea of the price range for your business sale.
Austin Businesses For Sale
There are many Austin businesses for sale. One gander at the some of the popular listing sites on the internet will give you an idea of what is out there. As a buyer, you can help us by narrowing down what types of businesses or industries that you may have interest in potentially buying. This will narrow down the types of businesses that you may have an interest in running, since most business purchases at this level are run by owner/operators. If you want something that is not owner operator run, then you may be looking at more of a lower middle market or mid-market business. Middle market businesses tend to have more professional management but be prepared to spend a lot more on these types of companies.  Once you have even thought about  selling your business in Austin TX , you should probably give us a ring.
Texas Businesses For Sale
We will also look for Texas businesses for sale, meaning we can take our search state-wide for certain serious buyers. If you know exactly what type of business or industry that you would like to buy, maybe as an add-on acquisition, then we will search the state or even surrounding states such as Louisiana and Oklahoma for those types of businesses. Keep in mind that Texas is unique and that the laws and taxes that apply here are unique to this pro-business state. Also, the local economy and ports in TX are very strong and unique to this area.

Business Broker

As an Austin business broker, we can add value to your next business sale or as a business buyer who wants to look at local businesses in the Austin, TX area.  We scour the local area in Central Texas for strong businesses that either want to divest or for those strategic buyers that want to add-on acquisitions to their business or company.  If you are a business seller, we can provide qualified buyers, who are often high-net worth individuals, private equity, venture capital, strategic industry buyers, and local individuals who all want quality businesses to buy.  So, whether as either a buyer or seller in Austin TX, as a business broker, we can help you find the right kind of business to buy or sell.  As a seller, we will walk you through business valuation, due diligence, EBITDA or seller’s discretionary earnings multiples (SDE), and give you a good idea of where comparable businesses have sold.  If you are selling your business in Austin TX, you owe it to yourself to give us a call.
